Departure and Pick-up
Info: We will be
meeting in the parking lot at Camp Miakonda at 11:45 a.m. on Friday,
April 17. The cost for the
weekend will be $30.00 per person and will be collected at the troop
meetings before the campout.
Packing Recommendations:
Standard Weekend Packing List
Pack all of your clothes in zip lock bags in a duffel bag this
month and
remember to bring the following: sleeping bag, personal cup,
hiking boots, and
lots of spirit. We will be sleeping in tents this
month, so make sure that you dress for the weather!
Activities Planned for the
Weekend: Our current
tentative schedule is calling for a visit to Gettysburg
Battlefields Visitors Center, Electric Map and museum on
Saturday, as well as to hike the locations of the Union troops
during the three days at Gettysburg. On Sunday, we will be
visiting the Eisenhower Estate and hiking the Confederate troop
lines, culminating in re-creation of Pickett’s Charge at the
end. We will stop for lunch on the way home and expect to be
back in Strongsville by dinner time on Sunday.
