Patrol Outpost Camp – April 23-25

Our upcoming camp is Patrol Outpost Camp, scheduled for the weekend of April 23-25, at Firelands Scout Reservation in Wakeman, OH. This month, we will be staying on the Avery Hand side of camp at the Carpenter shelter/campsite, which is where we stayed for October Camp. We can’t wait to get back to overnight camping, and being able to spend the weekend together as a troop!

The cost for camp will be $25, and you can sign up on TroopWebHost. If you are planning to arrive late or leave early, it is very important that you include that information in the comments, so that we can try and make arrangements with the camp staff.

As has been the procedure this year, all participants will need to bring the Lake Erie Council’s 14-day temperature log and health questionnaire with them to camp. This includes the adult/parent who will be transporting the Scout to camp (we are not carpooling to camp as a troop). With the start of camp being April 23rd, this means that you needed to begin tracking daily temperatures this past weekend, so if you haven’t started yet, please do so ASAP. You can download a copy of the temperature log sheet using this link:

Since it’s been several months since we last camped overnight (and this being the first opportunity for our new scouts to camp with us!), here are a few gear reminders. Each scout is responsible for bringing their own tent to camp. If you are a member of the Ultimate Amigos patrol, the troop will have tents for you to use, or you may bring your own tent. If you are planning to bring your own tent, please let us know, so that we can review it with you, and make sure the tent will be a good option.

Other important gear to remember to bring includes a ground tarp and pad, headlamp or flashlight, rain gear, camp chair, appropriate clothing for the weather forecast (don’t forget to pack a stocking hat and a couple of pairs of gloves if it’s going to be cold), your white or green advancement book, and a filled water bottle. Please also pack several masks or face coverings. Also, please make sure your name is on everything, including the parts of your tent.

If you have any questions about camp, please let us know. Since this is the first overnight camp for our new Scouts, we want to make sure we answer any questions you have, so please don’t hesitate to reach out. Thanks so much for your cooperation, and we hope you will be able to join us for a fun weekend!
