Summer Camp Merit Badge Pre-requisites

Some of the merit badges offered at Summer Camp have requirements that must be completed at home, and brought to camp with you. Other merit badges require you to bring a particular item (i.e. digital camera or a fishing rod). Here is a list of those badges, along with the requirements that need to be competed:

Art: 6
Camping: 4b, 8d
Communication: 5
Cooking: 4c, 4d, 4e
Crime Prevention: 2, 4, 7
Disabilities Awareness: 2
Electricity: 2, 9a
Emergency Preparedness: 2c, 6c
Engineering: 1
Environmental Science: 3e
Fishing: bring your own fishing gear
Fish & Wildlife Management: bring a fishing rod
Fire Safety: 6a, 6b, 11
Forestry: 3b, 5, 8
Geocaching: 8
Law: 4
Lifesaving: bring long pants, long sleeve shirt, and belt
Moviemaking: bring a digital camera with video
Photography: bring a digital camera and Cyber Chip completion certificate
Reptile & Amphibian Study: 8
Rifle Shooting: 1f
Robotics: 6
Search and Rescue: 4, 6a, 6b
Shotgun Shooting: 1f
Weather: 9

A description of the requirements can be found by searching for the specific merit badge requirements on Google, or by going to meritbadge.org, clicking on Merit Badges in the Boy Scouting section, and then clicking on the appropriate merit badge.

Please try to complete these requirements before camp, and bring your work with you, so that you can earn the badge during camp. If you aren’t able to complete some of these requirements before camp (for example, all of the meals that need to be cooked for the Cooking MB), please work on completing those as quickly as possible after you get home.
